Leash Laws We are lucky to have a "mute" (Malamute). Her name is Nashoba, which is Choctah Indian for "Wolf". So naturally we call her "Shobie". Anyway, one day, when I was out on a walk with her, she jumped up a bullfrog down by the pond, and she wanted it bad! I said "Shobie, you can't get him, he's in the water!" Anyone that owns a Malamute must know how much good that command would mean! The next thing I know, I was laying on the bank of the pond, on my back, with Shobie's nylon leash raising a whelt on my forehead, after it snapped in two, and popped me, from her pulling so hard. Bear in mind that I'm 46 years old and weigh 230 lbs. Shobie was 2 years old at that time, and maybe weighed 75 lbs. She's incredibly strong, enough so that my wife can't handle her on a walk any more. But she's our loyal and faithful friend, independant, but so are we! KC & Jane Carter
