Well this story is dedicated to all the people that told me not to get my malamute because i had a cat. I call my cat Kitty Cat, I never gave him a name because he was a stray and I didn't think I would keep him, this was almost three years ago. Hudson is my 11 month old mal. When I was a teenager I had wolf/mal mix and before him I had a Siberian Husky. A year ago I figured now that I'm on my own and have my own place I wanted to get a dog, a Malamute. I tried to get one from several rescues before buying one from a breeder but non of the rescues would give me one because I had a cat. They all said that it was too dangerouse to have any malamute near small animals such as cats, birds, or rabbits. Let me just say that when I had my wolf/mal mix we also had a Yorki and a Shitzu. Anyway I went to a breeder to get Hudson. He is now 11 months old and him and the cat are best buds. When hudson was between 4 and 6 months old he would walk over pick the cat up by the scruff of his neck and carry him around. Hudson will be lying down and Kitty will walk up to him wag his tail in his face and flaunt his hind end at him. Kitty will pretend to walk away and then without warning he'll turn, run , and jump right on Husdon's head, biting his ears and his cheeks. You know what Hudson does....NOTHING! He sits there like nothing is happening until the cat gets bored and walks away. Not to say that Hudson never instigates strong play. Hudson will chase the cat all around the house. When the cat lets Hudson catch him Hudson will bite the cats stomach, hind end, head, or whatever part he's playing with. He never gets to harsh with the cat and never hurts him. Like I said they're buds.
