Here's a funny story about our malamute, Mistaya. He's almost 18 months old and full of life. We also have a 4 year old cat who absolutely despises dogs of all kinds, particularly Mistaya. The reason becomes obvious as you read on.... The cat is fed inside our house, but no matter how much we feed him, he will always leave a little food in his bowl for later on. Whilst Mistaya is fed outside, he usually comes inside for a while after each meal to have a little play. No matter how much we feed him, he'll always eat more! And he often manages to find and eat the remaining cat food. The first time we caught him he got taken by the scruff of the neck and unceremoniously marched straight out the back door. We then ignored him for the rest of the evening. Ditto for the next two or three times, and then each time since. Nowadays, whenever he sees some left over cat food, he looks around to see if we're watching, paces around the food bowl for a while, walks away, comes back, and then eventually the temptation is too much and he just goes for it. Straight after the cat food is consumed, he rushes to the back door, puts his tail between his legs and cries to be let out. He knows he'll have to go out anyway, so he might as well admit his crime!!!
